The vintage of 2020 was very good. The suffocating heat of Summer lasted until mid-September, so we were able to have an autumn harvest, like those of yesteryear – the typical Rioja one: great thermal differences between day and night and even very cold with a North wind. We got to pick grapes at 6 degrees. This cold made the maceration one of the best in recent years, grapes with a lot of colour, very balanced in degree, acidity, and surprisingly soft tannins. One year to macerate the wines for a long time without extracting astringency or greenery.
Viniculture:
The bunches are deposited whole in the tanks. From inside the grain and thanks to the naturel fermentation, the aromas and colour of the skin are extracted. The pressing of the bunches completes the alcoholic fermentation of the wine.
